WPPI is taking the fun and excitement of Las Vegas on the road in its second annual WPPI Road Trip.  This August and September, WPPI will hit 10 cities across the country, bringing along the biggest speakers in professional photography!

The road trip kicks off Monday, August 23 in Irvine, CA then heads to Sacramento, CA on Wednesday, August 25. The rest of the road trip is as follows:

Monday, August 30 Seattle, WA

Wednesday, September 1 Dallas, TX

Monday, September 13 Washington, D.C.

Thursday, September 16 Chicago, IL

Monday, September 20 Atlanta, GA

Wednesday, September 22 Orlando, FL

Monday, September 27 New Brunswick, NJ

Wednesday, September 29 Detroit, MI

Each stop on the tour will host a full day of educational classes covering important topics including:

  • Business and Marketing
  • Lighting
  • Posing
  • Wedding and Portrait Shooting
  • Photoshop and Postproduction

Lunch and a mini trade show are included

The cost to attend is $135 ($149 starting July 31) and this includes FREE registration to WPPI 2011 in Las Vegas!

You can also bring a guest for $75 and that also includes a free registration to WPPI 2011 in Las Vegas.

It's like Facebook for photographers, but with [b] School you can help build your business, share referrals, learn, and teach.

Membership requirements must meet four simple rules:

1. Must be a professional photographer. Or at least an aspiring one.

2. Use your real name or business name.

3. You must have a web presence. Every member will need a website or at least a blog related to their photo business.

4. Don't be a prick! The [b] School is trying to build a new kind of community of photographers who encourage each other to succeed. They do not need bad attitude bringing others down.

Pricing information for memberships is structured in two forms. You can pay a monthly fee of $10 with an auto rebill option or you can pay $100 a year and save $20.

Another online photography community that is worth checking into is PictureSocial. PictureSocial is free to join and allows members to display and critique photos, blog, ask/answer questions, discuss equipment, and more. The community offers its members unlimited photo storage space and users who are on Flickr can copy their images to PictureSocial.

PicutreSocial is a big photography community, boasting almost 15,000 users alike.
